PMiller & I released “Fingernails” a few months ago and decided to give it a fresh remix with new verses in a collaboration with the homie Chuck Mallard.
My verse is a self reflection of sorts as I talk about dragging my feet for the past decade and losing sight of what my actual dreams were in the process. It also speaks about breaking free from those mental constraints through my writing.

This past Saturday marked 23 weekends in a row releasing music as D.T. Ruth with the release of “Dissonant Thoughts” produced by PMiller. This song is extremely personal and the poetry in my verses served as an outlet for me to release some pent up frustration.

PMiller and I just released “Liquor Store Murders” (the second of three solo tracks I’ll be releasing this month). The poetry I wrote for my verse was based on my history of trying to drown my doubts and my thoughts out with beer and my constant need to dwell on the past for no reason.

PMiller and I released “Pressure” yesterday and it’s a pretty big milestone for me as a writer because it’s my first solo track. The poetry in the verses is mostly about getting better at my craft and getting to a point where I feel like I’m fulfilling some sort of destiny. At the same time I’m expressing how I currently feel after years of struggling with my mental fortitude.
It feels like I’ve been chasing some sort of hazy dream for the past ten years but lately I’ve been seeing things crystal clear and the progress I’m making as a writer is extremely rewarding for me. The only goals I have for my music is to release as much of it as possible (starting with 100 artist credits) and try my best to reach as many people as possible. Whatever happens, happens. I’ll be writing regardless.

“Hangman” is the first song Pmiller & I released so it’s fitting that it was chosen as our first video. The animation was done by Ian Newton and he did a great job bringing us to life as cartoons. When my journey as a writer evolved to making music I never really saw myself getting in front of a camera to shoot videos and it turns out that animations are the perfect answer for camera shyness.
This video was released on January 1st so it’s not necessarily new but I just started being active on my personal blog so I’m going to be posting some of my past work in here to get it archived. You’ve been warned.
